When my children began asking for “nicer music” in the car and were constantly expressing their disappointment in the music and song choices at recent weddings, I realized that my dreams would find a welcoming audience, even within the younger listeners looking for excitement yet yearning for quality, Jewish music. Over the last few years, the thought of bringing back the true Jewish identity to our music, with its depth, beauty, and uplifting spirit of kedusha embedded in its songs and praise of Hashem, has crossed my mind often. Most tunes matching this profile had outdated arrangements lacking the musical quality to arouse a demand for more, denying even basic enjoyment from listening, not to speak of uplifting of any sort.
As my relationship with the superstar of Jewish music arrangements and world-renowned composer, Mona Rosenblum, evolved, we discussed this dream and goal very often. One day, the RBS”O sent us a treasure when Mona found a trove of songs from the late R’ Bentzion which they recorded together years ago in a basement. As they say, the rest is history… Mona’s cutting edge, world stage quality music arrangements, coupled with R’ Bentzion’s pure and deeply rooted Jewish compositions, are being presented here by the best singers and choirs the Jewish music world has to offer, with one goal in mind: LEHACHSIR ATARAH LEYOSHNO, to reintroduce pure, unadulterated Jewish music, so dear to our nation and hearts for generation, at the highest musical quality levels.
We are not limited to any single composer or type of song; with your help we will continue to write and rewrite the songs our souls are truly yearning for and share them along with top notch musical arrangements for your true enjoyment. Please visit us at www.Shirasa.com or email at yraproduction.shirasa@gmail.com to submit your suggestion of the next true Yiddish song to be transformed into a masterpiece.
May it be the will of the Rbs”o that this effort will succeed in reawakening the inner purity in Yidden, bringing us closer to our holy roots and strengthen our all-encompassing, everlasting connection with HIM.
