Modzitz Pesach Kumzitz 5786 2026

The home of Reb Aron Orlander was filled to capacity with people who gathered for the traditional Chol Hamoed kumzitz in Boro Park.

R’ Aron, together with his musical partner Reb Dovid Bick, masterfully brought to life a rich tapestry of niggunim—songs, marches, and waltzes—from the treasured repertoire of the Modzitz dynasty. Particular emphasis was given this year to the compositions of the Imrei Aish of Modzitz, who lived in Tel Aviv, whose niggunim resonated deeply throughout the evening. The legacy of their mentor, the unforgettable Reb Benzion Shenker, was also beautifully honored.

Dr. Gordon Dale, a noted expert on Modzitz niggunim and a close confidant of Reb Benzion Shenker, added a unique dimension with his moving guitar performances. Chaim Helfand rendered several masterpieces on the clarinet with elegance and feeling, while Rabbi Yisroel Aryeh Wachsman brought depth and warmth through his masterful violin playing. The legendary Dov Lenchevsky accompanied the entire event with sensitivity and brilliance on the piano.

The evening left the crowd uplifted, inspired, and deeply connected to the spirit of the Chag.
