After the 2025 Israel-Iran war, I decided to do something few people would dare — I went back to Iran.
As a Hasidic Jew returning right after the conflict, I wanted to see how people would treat me, how the atmosphere felt, and whether the warmth I experienced before still existed.
From the very first moments in the airport to walking through the ancient streets of Shushtar, I found a country filled with emotion, curiosity, and unexpected kindness. I continued my journey to Shush — the former שושן הבירה — where the story of מגילת אסתר once unfolded. There, I explored the remains of the Apadana Palace, once home to אחשווראש, and visited the קבר from Daniel (דניאל בגוב האריות).
This video captures history, faith, and humanity in a place where all three meet: Iran, after the war.
